In this month’s feature we share Alexis’ love for swimming, overcoming challenges, and even swimming for a cause.
We thank Alexis’s grandmother, Susan Davies, for giving us a glimpse of how special her granddaughter is.
“My granddaughter Alexis is 9 years old, she started swimming at the age of 4, she then progressed to Adwick Swimming club when she was 5 and now swims competitively in their A Squad.
Last year Alexis swam in the swimathon with her friend Chloe and raised a massive £840 for cancer research and Macmillan swimming a total of 5000m (2500m each) in just over an hour.
Alexis has been diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome (motor tics ) last year and this can be very severe when swimming but with the help and support from her coaches this hasn’t prevented her enjoying and competing successfully.”
